Boo! 2013

Halloween this year was fun for Mckinlie. She was a year older and understood a bit more. 

She was princess belle and Kenna was a ladybug. 

We had our ward party. M went around and played the games and collected candy. She also played the donut on the string game. Let's not kid ourselves, that game was really for me. She ate two bites, they cut it down and I ate it. Win-win for both of us. 

Then we went to visit Trevor's grandma at her home. They paraded around for the people living there, had cookies and played with Gate-Gammas dog for a minute. They loved it. 

Kennedi was not a fan of so many cute stranger old ladies trying to hold her. Can you tell? 

To my surprise the second she say Gate-gamma, she ran to her and reached her arms up. 

After, we met Dad at Lonestar Steakhouse. That's my kind of Halloween activity! 

after that, we went back home to go to what we thought were just a few houses. Every time we tried to go back home, she would pipe up with, " NO! I need to go to THAT house. It will make me soooo happy *sigh*". And yes, she included the sigh at the end. Heaven help me. She was good at going up to the door, holding out her basket and saying thank you. She collected a lot of candy for her parents and slept well that night. ;)

Potty-training

Day 1 of potty-training started today. I was so so afraid and dreaded it but it hasn't been all that bad so far! She's had 2 accidents because she didn't make it to there in time. She realized she had to go and told me, but it was a little too late. Mckinlie is doing awesome! I'm so proud of her. I'm sort of sad that she isn't a baby anymore, but glad to be making progress. 

This was my view for most of the day. I've spent way too much time in the bathroom with her. Can't wait for Trevor to take on potty duty tonight! ;) 

I have some adorable potty pictures, but sadly there are some freaks out there that make it so I can't share cute bare-bottom pics of the cutie. Cross your fingers the rest of the week goes as well! 

Sweet, innocent baby

When she wakes up, she is a handful! She antogonizes her sister and then pouts and cries when Mckinlie strikes back. 

Mckinlie was not at all attached to us and wanted to do her own thing. Not kennedi! She wants me and only me 24/7. She is so so so clingy to me. It's very rare that she will let Trevor hold her if I'm around. 

This is what I get when I try to leave her. She blocks the door while crying hysterically. 

I'm pretty flattered. I love my sweet Kennedi Grace. 

Why do they have to grow up?

It's so not fair. Time really does fly. I found this baby picture of Mckinlie. She was so chunky! She still has baby rolls on her legs and I love them

Grandpa's Farm

"Gampa" doesn't really have a farm, but Mckinlie thinks that any farm we go to is his farm because of that song: we're on our way, we're on our way. On our way to grandpas farm. Great, now I'll be singing that all day. 

We went to HeeHaw farms with my parents and the kids were in heaven. That is the coolest place. 

We rode on Gampas shoulders

Watched them drop a car from a crane 

Fed some goats 

Tasted the goats food 

Cuddled our Dad 

Chased some pigs

Played in a box of corn 

And Rode a pony (Mckinlie is obsessed) 

Maybe she'll love horses like I did. I really really wanted one around the age of 5. My parents told me I could have one if I saved up and bough one. They told me one way to save was to collect all of our tin cans and recycle them at this center that pays cash for them. Family members would bring me huge bags of cans and I would save them in the shed. Yeah, still waiting for my pony. 

Stylin' Girls

On one of our many trips to Target, Mckinlie found these glasses and put them on herself & Kennedi. They wore these all through Target. I should have bought them! 

Partners in crime

These pictures say it all....Mckinlie & her sidekick. They do everything together and Mckinlie makes sure her sister is always taken care of and included. 

Which witch?

In October we went to Gardner Village with some of our cousins! We went around this time last year, so I think it's becoming a tradition. 

Mckinlie was so excited to see Parker, Kamree and Easton. She talks about them non-stop. They rented a house a few doors down from our new house, and she is pretty excited about that. She'll be on their doorstep everyday without fail. 

Kennedi was tired since she missed a nap. The second I got her out of the stroller and put her down, she was overwhelmed with the crowds and the all the kids in her face excited to see her. She spent the rest of the time in the stroller eating snacks and sleeping. At least she was happy before we left! 

The kids rode horses and fed animals in the petting zoo. Mckinlie was so excited that she got to ride next to Parker. 

They got to feed the goats a bottle. I was surprised that she was not at all scared and loved it. 

Easton held the bag of food open for the goat and he ate the whole thing, BAG INCLUDED! Oops. 

Then we walked around the village and looked at all the witches. It was a ton of fun & we can't wait for next year!

Getting a group picture of a bunch of kids is pretty impossible. Obviously ;) 

So it has begun

Mckinlie is just over 2 1/2 but we decided to keep her in a crib until she starts to climb out. She hasn't even been close to, so I thought we had awhile. 

On Tuesday I was in my room cleaning the blinds with the door closed. The girls had been napping and quiet for about 30 min. Nap-time is NOT a time of rest in this house, it's merely a time to clean. I'm really into the show Army Wives on netflix, so I play that while I clean and that's my "me time". I was focusing on that and I hear the bedroom door rattle and swing open. It's the middle of the day, so my heart jumps and I turn around and I hear, " I am awake!" And see little Mckinlie standing in the doorway. It took my heart a few seconds to recover and meanwhile she jumps up on my bed and asks to watch a movie so casually. I ask her what she's doing and she says, " I climbed out my bed and I'm watching a movie". Duh mom. Kenna was still sleeping so I went in later and found this:  

She had stacked her pillow pets and a book and used that to climb out. No big deal. Guess who now only gets 1 "pilla" and 1 blanket to sleep now?

She hasn't tried it since, luckily. Oh this child. She keeps us on our toes. Hopefully she can wait until we move as we REaLLY don't want to buy a bed now and then move it again in a few months. 

Pumpkin Patch

We took the girls to a farm by our house this weekend. Last year we did some fun fall stuff at this same farm, but Kennedi was too small to enjoy it. I remember having her bundled and strapping her to me. Things were much different this year! 

We went on a wagon ride, saw some animals, went through a tiny corn maze, and chose pumpkins. The girls were so into it and it was adorable. 

I love fall & I can't wait to do more stuff with the girls
